Moxibustion is a Traditional Chinese Medicine technique in which the herb Artemisa Vulgaris (also known as mugwort) is lit and held over the targeted area while needles are in place. This is a particularly effective treatment for the relief of knee pain and tennis elbow.
In cupping, a vacuum pump is used to eliminate the use of fire and heat completely. This modality uses a pump to create a vacuum that anchors the cup to the skin drawing up the skin, stimulating blood flow and qi. The improved blood flow helps to relax tight muscles and relieve pain. This process also draws toxins out of the body.
During electroacupuncture, acupuncture needles are attached to a device that generates an electric pulse. This heightens stimulation to the targeted area and is especially useful in treating long-standing conditions and musculoskeletal injuries.
