ACUPUNCTURE AND STRESS REDUCTION

Many studies and reviews have shown that acupuncture can reduce stress in human and amimal subjects. In one such study of acupuncture and stress reduction, by Karen Sparrow MD, and Brenda Golianu MD, blood pressure and heart rate variation was measured to assess the value of manual acupuncture on subjects with hypertension issues. Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques were used along with other acupuncture protocols. The conclusion specified a relative decrease in physiologic stress in the patients studied.
